This is why I like Southern Cal. They are one of the few College Football "Powers" that will schedule home and homes against teams like BC or UVA. Michigan, Auburn or Texas would insist on a 2-1 deal if they had to play at B.C.
Also, last year, the USC fans were the 2nd most polite visiting fans at Arizona (after BYU, go figure). I know they get a bad rep from some people, but I've never had a bad experience when they come to Tucson.

Agree on USC fans. In my experiences, they have been first class.

I recall them playing each other throughout the 80's. I believe it was called the "Rose Bowl." :D

SC fans have a very different reputation for games in LA . . .

I'm referring to "visiting" fans. I'm amazed at how arrogant and boorish the visiting fans for some teams can be. The worst I've encountered are Ohio State and Arizona State, but then again, ASU, Arizona a big rivalry game, so I'm not sure they're necessarily the worst in the Pac-10.
The next worst group after those two is Oregon.

Agree with that after all their yapping last year in Berkeley. They shut up pretty quick after kickoff

In '05, they came to Tucson. The Ducks were up 21-0 very quickly, and some jacka$$ a couple rows in front of us was really giving us *****. I walked down and calmly explained to the man that I wasn't in Eugene 20 years ago mocking their fans Oregon fans while the Ducks' football team sucked balls, and I'd appreciate it if he'd stop. His wife damn near hit him after I said that! xlolx
Best part, the Cats came back to tie it at 21-21. We never heard much from him after that.
None of the season ticket holders in the area near my seats gives any of the visiting fans a hard time. In fact, on several occasions, a few of us have asked some kids to either shut up or leave if they couldn't behave civilly. These were Arizona fans too.

I love it when that happens!

I didn't spend a lot of time outside the stadium last year in Berkeley, but just walking around the stadium to my gate, all you could hear was Duck fans shooting off their mouths about how they were going to kick Cal's ass and how this would be like a home game for them. They filled up their visitor section in the south end and nothing else. And it was obvious from the get-go that Cal was by far the superior team

Quite a few times in the 1970's, too.

I take it you've never been to Baton Rouge? Tiger fans can be ruthless. But the Jags fans have a bad rep as well :o

No, but I've heard. LSU played Arizona in Tucson in '03, but I wasn't there. I heard very little nice things about the visiting Tiger fans. It didn't help either that the Wildcats in '03 had probably their worst team in 20 years and the score was like 56-2 or something. That was the season John Mackovic got fired 4 games in.

The one good thing is that the Tiger fans don't travel much (at least not the really crazy ones). Now at Tiger Stadium is a very different story. My favorite fans are the University of South Florida you hardly know they're there. xlolx xlolx

I found LSU fans to be first class when I was there in 2004 for the Appalachian State game. They supported their team in a classy manner and were respectful of their opponents. It was one of the most positive crowds I've ever seen.

I'm not saying all are bad. But I grew up there and I've been to games against Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, and even Kentucky. It can get really crazy.
