The Roger Clemens Era has begun in New York even if he is not with the parent club yet. And what a way to start the second Clemens Era, with a 3-2 loss to the Seattle Mariners.

Its funny, the Yankee fans on YF vs SF arent complaining about the teams woeful offensive showing, but rather calling for the life of an umpire who they feel robbed them.

Now I didnt see the game so I didnt see the play in question, but since I know they'd say this to a Sox fan lets toss this at them...

With that offense if you only score 2 runs, you dont deserve to win!

That was a bad call. He was out by 3 feet. Watch the highlights today. They get the call right and the inning is over. But, it dosen't discount the HR off Mariano. He is struggling and its concerning!!!

The offense is struggling at times. Cano and Abreu are stopping rallies every inning and Arod was never going to stay that hot. Plus, Damon is playing hurt like always.

I'd rather have the pitching performance last night (except for Mariano).

Ah, memories. I almost miss the days when Abreu would do nothing to help the Phillies win. (*note, this post contains excessive sarcasm*)

I'm watching the Yankee game last night in the bottom of the 8th, the Yankees are winning, 2-1. My two-year-old starts making noise in his bedroom.

I get up to see what's wrong but just then Bloomquist, the runner on first, breaks for second with two out. So I stand for a second at the door to the room to see the outcome of the play.

Bloomquist is obviously out by a mile for the third out. After seeing the outcome of the play, I leave the room to take care of my son.

I come back a few minutes later and I can't understand what I'm seeing. The Mariners are still up in the bottom of the 8th and the score is tied now 2-2. I stare at the screen baffled for the next few minutes. I was sure there had been two outs when Bloomquist was tossed at second.

Turns out second base umpire Gerry Davis called Bloomquist safe at second and he scored on the next pitch on a single by Johjima. Continued replays showed Bloomquist was out and it wasn't even close.

But you didn't even need a replay. It was obvious with the naked eye. xnonono2x

Yes, it was a bad call, but it did not cost the Yanks the game, it only tied it. Rivera lost the game

I haven't seen the play...will accept it was a bad call...

The big news, IMHO, is the continued downfall of Mariano Rivera. He's not doing it for the Yankees...

Yes, if the call went the Yankees way, Seattle might not have gotten to Mariano...the call went against NY...and a weakness was further exposed...

go to ESPN.com and launch the video player. Watch the highlights for the Yanks game, they show it pretty clearly. He was tagged on his butt and his hand was a good 2 feet from the bag. Even still, that only puts a man on 2nd, the Yanks didn't get the next batter out and Mariano has turned into a human HR derby pitcher
