Seriously we’re not sure what to make of our team. Our Defense is better than our offense. Really strange to watch for us! Our QB is out with a broken hand our back up is playing on a bum ankle next up is a true freshman our top 2 slots are dinged up but should be back this week. Pleasant surprise has been the freshman receivers stepping up. We finally had a running back gain 100 yards.

Put us below the line between SHSU and McNeese for now. At 2-3, 1-2 I don't see it unless we have an amazing 2nd half of the season. I think we may still be able to better last year but we are still a season away from play-offs; IF we keep progressing.

IMO, the Lamar team we beat two weeks ago was better than the Lamar team we beat last year. I can't pinpoint why they're so inconsistent but they have good team speed on both sides of the ball, some playmakers and a capable, athletic QB. They had some injuries coming out of our game and have been dealing with flooding issues, but I'm glad we got them out of the way. I don't know if they can duplicate last year's playoff run but wouldn't surprise me if they throw a wrench in somebody's season.

I'm not sure about that. We are just too inconsistent this year. SFA outplayed us for most of the game, but we came up with timely turnovers to pull out the win. Our QB Brock is not very good. He can be accurate when he has time and his first choice is open, but if he gets pressure or has to move to his second or third receivers he is just bad. Whatever success we have for the rest of the season will be because of our defense. But, I can't argue with 3-0 in conference with a blowout win over UIW, who just beat a good HBU team and a win road win over McNeese, who just beat SLU. Also, our UND road loss doesn't look so bad after the Hawks beat UC Davis.

I thought the UCA/Nicholls game would have been closer. I did choose Nicholls to win in the poll, though, because I know weird things happen in the bayou. I didn't realize Nicholls had lost seven or eight games in a row to the Bears before yesterday. This may be bad news for the Cowboys as I'm sure the Bears will be very angry and ready to let it out on someone when McNeese visits next week.

As for McNeese, who would have thought the Cowboys would rush for 200+ yards against Guidry's defense!

Did ACU's QB get injured in the game against Lamar?

As for the Battle of the Piney Woods, it was nice to see a competitive game!

You can't sleep on anyone in the SLC!

Yep. That was one of the hardest hitting games I have seen in a long time. What made it even better was that they were big hits but they were clean on both sides. No cheap shots.

Yes, it went back and forth there, SHSU defense saved the day and prevailed in the end with the sacks and forcing the late TOs.

These Jacks are going to give fits to the remaining teams on our schedule, not saying we win them all, but take notice.

Connor must have seen some of that sweet Luc Swimberghe/SFA action back in '15 and was like "I want some of that!"

The ACU suckage reality is setting in on us. The word was that Luke was on concussion protocol, but nothing official. The coaches are keeping everything under wraps. So, we don't know for sure, and when, if that's what it is. Sema"J actually did fairly decent against Lamar. We just have no real offensive threats right now and our offensive coordinator calling is really ticking a lot of fans off. Our special teams play still sucks and our defense still gets beat at key times even though they make other good plays. I don't have much hope for the rest of the season... This year is just a HUGE let down.

Our kicker, according to roster, also came from sfa...Bailey Giffen? Best kicker we’ve had. Our freshman punter’s been shanking, so Giffen has taken on that as well.
