Just saw on Sports Center that the Packers season ticket waiting list is 73,000 long. They free up about 150 seats a year. If you were at the bottom of the list it will take you over 400 years to get your tickets.xsmhx

My question is why doesn't the Pack build a 120,000 seat stadium? At what? $120 a seat per game wouldn't it make sense to have a new venue that would be pre-sold out at a 120,000 paid attendance per game?

What does Lambeau or (Lambeaux -I don't want to upset any cheeseheads or french-ca'nucks) hold? 70k? I agree with Ronbo they should build the biggest stadium in the land or put another deck around and "pack" in about 120-130,000 people per game. What a site that would be..Could you imagine the noise?

Lambeau seats about 73,000. With 73,000 waiting for season tix (and assuming most everyone at games are season tix holders), that means that theoretically the Packers could expand Lambeau to 150,000 seats and have it at about 97-98 percent capacity every week.

And think about this: There's only 103,000 people living in Green Bay.

I admire their loyalty- I really do.

But I can sit at home, drink beer, and stay warm while I watch them lose two or three times a year, and I don't have to be on a waiting list, either.

Now, college football- that's another matter entirely.

GB has the best fans in the NFL. They are a different breed from any other team.

I should know, after all Green Bay is my team. xrotatehx

How much do you think it'll cost for the Packers, in such a small city, can raise so much money to up capacity almost 60,000+?

I don't know why they don't - it's a private company. There's obviously a ton of unrealized, untapped potential income. What are they waiting for?

Or wait - are they owned by the city? Maybe it's not a for-profit corporation

Yeah, the packers are a public owned team.

Wanna bet they like it just the way it is, and have no intention of changing the status quo? Kinda like your favorite pub- why change it if you like it already?

And as far as those people on the waiting list- that's their problem.

They have stock holders, so it has to be a public company.

Not to mention if they keep the size where it is, they can charge an arm and a leg for tickets and know that someone will always buy them.

Maybe the actual stadium has a lot to do with it. Right now it looks very harmonious, putting on a deck on one side can make it look less traditional, and unwanted.
