Before we start patting Goodell on the back, I'd like to point out that although Ahmad Carroll was a 1st Rounder, he only played in 4 games last year and his numbers are not exactly "pro-bowl" caliber. In other words, he's some scrub who got in trouble, so the club cut their ties. If he was an all-pro, that never would have happened.

When Tom Brady goes on an all-night coke and booze bender, slaps a prostitute around, then pisses on a cop car, and is cut by the Patriots... then I'll believe the NFL is "cracking down." Until then, not likely.

The Packers passed on Chris Gamble for this man, "Mr. Boxing Gloves." :(

Packers cut him after he argued with Coach Sherman, after one of his many stupid penalties.

Unfortunately, it still depends a lot on the franchise management. Look how long it took Minnesota to get the message, whereas Carolina has always had a short trigger on players who give them a negative image.

This is still a good message to send the players

But it needs to be a consistent message. That's my issue with this. The cutting of one mediocre douche-bag player doesn't really send a message. If every douche got cut, that would be clear cut.

Well, it could be said that everyone who commits a crime while making $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ should be called a douche and therefore sent packing
