Major? Charlotte or Greensboro Both about 1 1/2 to 2 hours away. There is a smaller regional airport in Hickory. Maybe an hour away? I've never used it.

Teams don't fly into Hickory. It is a very small airport. Both Greensboro and Charlotte airports are two hours away. There is also a large enough airport in Winston-Salem (an hour and a half away) to fly into and isn't real busy. Charters usually end up going to Greensboro, or Winston-Salem. Not as much traffic and hassles to deal with as Charlotte, which is a hub airport.

I wouldn't say we have deep pockets - hence the mad scramble to get home games for the money. :D

And the only things flying into NC 14 (the Boone airport) are private (general aviation) planes. Only has a 3200 foot runway. xthumbsupx

Almost NO chance of the Big Sky getting four teams in the playoffs. The Big Sky teams knock each other off too much for that to ever happen.

i think this is a big game for NAU but i also believe its a big game for the Big Sky Conference. Hopefully with a good showing, the BSC can gain some more respect and get back to the days where BSC was the #1 conference in FCS

Solid schedule. You already have a tough conference slate, then add on top of that App State and an improving Arizona club. It's going to be tough.

It'd be great to see some NAU fans make the trip. If you can fly into Greensboro you can take the PART bus straight into Boone for $16 there and back (on different days of course).

If you can grab a cheap plane ticket and hotel, it'd be a hell of a roadtrip.

EDIT: I hope its a home & home, I've got some family in Arizone.

unfortunately...i doubt many fans will be at the game. NAU has a hard enough time getting fans into the dome (averaging about 6-7,000 people in a stadium whos capacity is over 15,000) muchless across the country. You'll see a good 20 or so...hopefully!lol
