NEW YORK – UMass Lowell edged the Columbia field hockey team, 2-1, Sunday afternoon in the Lions home opener. The Riverhawks (4-3) broke a 1-1 tie in the 42nd minute off a Leah Cardarelli score and held off Columbia (3-3) over the final 18 minutes to pick up the victory.
