No and yes. The QB situation will kill our season if Keeler doesn't pick one and stick with him. Both are capable and I think both have a high upside. The defense is better. We have a strong d-line and our defensive backfield, which historically has been our Achilles heel, may be our strongest position group on defense.

The QB from last year got hurt against Drake last week. It sounds like he will be out for a while. Back up QB is capable, but nothing special. The O-line returned pretty much everyone, but apparently they purposely lost weight to fit the new offensive scheme. D-line is pretty much all new guys with one stud DE.

Some yes. Its a cluster right now - fired the OL coach after last season so the new guy is working his ass off to fix it all. LT, LG are back and solid. New guy at center cause starter got a concussion in fall camp. RG is good player but young and raw. RT sucks and backup is a freshman.

We seem to be playing more consistently and with more intensity than last year. Keeler even mentioned in an early press conference that we didn't have a good locker room last year. I think our offense will be more balanced than in the past. We are loaded at the skill positions and have an experienced o-line...if they stay healthy. I think the difference this hear will be our defense. We are good on the D-line, but I think this may be the best secondary we have had since the 2011 season. My only concern is that we are still rotating QBs every other series. That cannot be sustained.

Not sure yet, but D looks to be significantly better. This week will be a good test. From last years game we have a new qb or 2. Dare was benched after last years ND game our O-line will be much better than last year. We only had 3 or 4 original starters out by the time we played. Only 1 made it the entire season. So far we’ve played 2qbs and several running backs so not sure if that continues or we settle in with clear starters. Really don’t have a clear picture of where the team is am cautiously optimistic,but we’ll learn a lot this week.

Massey has UND as the 15th ranked team in the country, and pegs UND as an 11 point favorite, which kind of helps to explain the opening spread. I think SHSU at around -3 makes the most sense IMO.

This is how I see it. Sam is better this year than last. In the game last year we had a QB that was not good. We already had injuries on the offensive line. Our defense was bad. This year we have two capable quarterbacks, although I believe we need to pick one and run with him but Keeler seems to want to play both. Our offensive line now is healthy and experienced. Our defense is better, especially our defensive backfield which may be the best part of our D. And either QB is better than Dare was last year.
