As a kid growing up on a farm with pigs, I have seen it made from the slug in Mr. Piggy's skull at 3am to the old ladies at the slaughterhouse sterile boiling the meats by 3pm. I was desensitized early.

And I love me some properly prepared scrapple:. crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.Scrapple is good. There is a restaurant attached to a hotel up in Amish country that serves it. I have eaten up there. I am a huge fan of blood klub or blood sausage which is a thing the Scandinavians eat back home.

Multiple turnovers would equalize this game.

Kehoe is not very mobile and makes mistakes. The Bison defense shouldn't have much trouble defending this offense. But we'll see. NDSU hasn't blitzed much so far, maybe they cut loose in this game. Bring the pressure to Kehoe and make him mistake prone.

I agree 30 points is too many, especially playing a good team on the road far from home. I also agree that the outcome won't be decided until the 2nd half. In 2014 a week after stomping Iowa State we struggled in the first half at Weber. This Bison team is young (but talented) and there will be bumps in the road. That said, I'll spot you 14 points!

Some of my next day thoughts:

IMO, Coach Entz has a little "edge" to him and I like it!

If the freshman kicker has a range of 45-48, then go for it on 4th down closer to the red zone.

I'm not too concerned about the defense getting scored on in the 2nd half. They played base defense and played soft with a ton of rotations. Cruise control.

RB is full of talent even with 2 guys hurt right now.

TEs are huge and are hard to cover. Great blockers also.

Christian Watson is getting better and better.

I still think Hankey is slow but he has a nose for the ball.

Both NDSU lines dominated Delaware.

On to Davis which loves to throw the ball everywhere. Should be a good test defensively for the Bison. Trouble is for Davis they are going to get run out of the FD. Hard to score when the offense is on the sideline. Let's see how Maier does in the noise. Bison win this game comfortably.

I guess you thought he should have had the team in Victory formation? Honestly don't remember the amount of time on the clock but thought you guys had timeouts in your pocket yet. Either way he was playing backups not to mention our FG kicker is a true freshman. The distance on the kick may have been a factor also. Personally I'd of liked to see coach keep that play and the play from the Butler game in his playbook for more meaningful games where it may be needed. Now he's shown it and it's on film. Lastly he's a rookie head coach. Hey not making excuses like the old saying goes you don't like it stop it on the field!

I'll admit it was kind of a dickish move. That said I don't mind that our head coach might be kind of a dick... there's upsides to that also.

My guess is he'll play it off as something to get on tape that opponents will have to prep for in the future. I'd guess that as he matures as a head coach he'll keep that play in his back pocket in a situation like that.

I think he wanted that fake FG on tape because teams have been getting very aggressive on FG block attempts. What surprised me was that NDSU didn't go into victory formation afterwards. That said, NDSU's only play after that was a run through the A-Gap by a RB who isn't on the depth chart. Yes, it went 20 yards for the TD, but that's not on NDSU. Now, I'll eat my words if scoring late in all-but-done games becomes a pattern. Our last two coaches certainly wouldn't have called a fake FG in those circumstances; they'd have just gone for it or tried a FG. On the other hand, they'd never have taken out the QB and a couple key defensive players with the game even remotely in doubt. Cripes, I remember Brock Jensen being in games where the Bison were up by 4 scores - and that was with Carson Wentz on the bench.

Onto more pleasant things: First, that TD to Chichi Amachi might be the best pass/catch I see all year from an opponent (at least I hope it is.) Second, Henderson looked like freaking Rich Gannon out there and am surprised he didn't start considering that offenses with mobile/running QBs are the only ones that seem to have success against NDSU's defense. Third, there are some smart, well-coached guys on your defensive line.

NDSU brought 800 to their tailgate, according to the folks there who I talked to. Their President and AD were both there and I listened to them speak. I'm sure a few more can be added to that count, so I'd say there were 800-1000 Bison fans there. It wasn't as big a number as I expected, but it was still a nice showing.

The reported attendance of over 14K in a stadium that now seats only 16.7K due to construction was probably generous. It looked more like 12-13K at best to me from my view from the west stands.

JMU doesn't sell out a lot of games either. This is kind of an NCAA-wide problem, especially in areas where there are a lot of other things to do on a nice late summer day.

There likely had to be a minimum of 1k NDSU fans if they sold out their ticket allotment, per their ticket office. Isn't it a CAA policy that host institutions must provide a minimum of 1,000 tickets to visiting ticket offices for resale? Most of JMU's opponents end up returning the overwhelming majority of that standard allotment.

Typical FCS fan turnout at JMU is 100-200 persons, if that. UR and WM may bring 500 if they're fielding good teams while we're also not a high end program.

This is not a knock on NDSU. Approximately 1k fans from Fargo to Newark is amazing for anyone outside of the top half of the P5. It just wasn't nearly as much as some of their fans wanted to guess in the off season. I saw some 3-5k figures that I laughed at.

It's the regular season and it involves costly travel. I completely understand why a fan would choose to save that money for a likely Frisco trip instead.
