IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Columbia field hockey team erased an early two-goal deficit and came away with a 5-3 victory over Central Michigan to begin the 2019 season. Kelly McCarthy, Allison Smith and Maaike Blindenbach each posted their first career goals and Jennifer Trieschman scored twice in the triumph.
