Two weeks til the Derby...

Time to start really following our main horse, Any Given Saturday...

AGS is going to really be a contender and has put together a strong season heading into the Triple Crown season.

Placed in the top three in his last six races -- including wins at the Sam F Davis, Allowance at Keeneland and the Maiden at Turfway.

If AGS wins the triple crown, the url to this site will be worth a pretty penny, I think. :)

This race horse is becoming a lot of peoples pick to win the Derby this weekend.

He's half brother to 2003 Derby and Preakness winner Funny Cide.

His Sire is Distorted Humor who has been producing some very good runners.

Lets make sure we're all rooting for AGS saturday ;)

AGS has some good pedigree as I have said in a different thread.

Decendent of Seattle Slew and Secratariat, a half sibling of Funny Cide and the eqivilent of a cousin to everyone favorite Smarty Jones.

Im expecting big things from Any Given Saturday this spring.

When I checked this morning, AGS (the horse) is rated at 12-1, about sixth in the huge field. His star dimmed a bit after a disappointing third-place finish (in a field of only six) at the Wood Memorial last month. Repoters said he tired in the stretch and took the turns too wide. Those odds are intriguing, however!xcoolx

Suppose this horse wins the triple crown...

How many hits does that publicity generate for AGS? Right now, 3 of the 5 top google hits for "any given saturday" are FCS related, one is BCS related, and the other is a list of Derby contenders.

Did I miss the thread, or has it not been noted that the horse who drew the #18 position in Saturday's Kentucky Derby is named:

Any Given Saturday

If I could find an OTB location, I would be all over that horse. The morning line is 12-1. I hope he's good enough to move on to the Preakness. I will be there with LBKid and I can guarantee a nice wager on AGS! xnodx xnodx xhurrayx

We will be rooting for AGS this afternoon at my place. My youngest daughter is a horse fan and she has already taken to him. She was also a fan of Funny Cide and Smarty Jones.

Some people thought that AGS just had a bad race at the Wood (we watched it a few weeks back). He had some trouble out of the gate and then got caught in a bad position during the race before being forced to take things wide. May have been just a bad race from his jockey. Anyway, we expect better things today.

This was Street Sense's eigth lifetime race. He is the first horse in thoroughbred history to win the Kentucky Derby after winning the Breeder's Cup Juvenile as a two-year old.
I had the exacta boxed. The horse I liked, Hard Spun, with the favorite.
