Gocong listed #1 SS OLB on Eagles depth chart

The Philadelphia Eagles cut Dhani Jones today and list former Cal Poly player Chris Gocong #1 on the depth chart at strong side outside LB.

Gocong will get his shot to start - he was hampered by injuries coming into camp last year and never got to the point where he was really ready to play. He should be fully healthy now and he'll get all the opportunities early on.

Amazing how being healthy can greatly enhance Chris Gocong's shot at playing in Philly !!! If he can stay healthy I believe that he will have a great year. His speed will be a HUGE plus for the Eagles...

I definitely think that Gocong is a player - hopefully he does stay healthy - there's a danger that if you start looking like you are injury prone that you won't last long with a team. Gocong's already missed a year, it's important for him to stay healthy this year.

Well, Jones had gotten so bad anyway I'm not sure that Gocong's health really had much to do with that decision. Heck, Gathier had already beaten Jones out of the lineup by the time the season ended last year. The end was obvious for Jones in Philly, Gocong or no Gocong.

Gocong stayed healthy for all five years at Cal Poly. I do agree that this year is a very important year for Gocong and he needs to stay healthy.
