William Penn is the fourth school to announce the start of women's wrestling.

Good for them. Expanding the sport to women will help save it on the men’s side.

I asked a college coach what he thought about this and said exactly the same thing.

The NCAA has made women’s wrestling an “emerging sport”, so that should help it grow even more.

Yes, I can see this growing, also at the high school level. Lehigh has showcased women's wrestling at a couple of their dual meets with a USA Wrestling Women's bout during the "half time" of the men's meet at Grace Hall. Hopefully, it catches on.

The state of Alabama had its first girls state tournament today. The daughter of a friend won the championship at her weight class. I remember picking my son up at practice in middle school and seeing her hanging out. Pretty cool she is a state champ.
