You've taken the old "univ of texas" and "texas a&m" route w/ hosting track&field regional meets so that you can get the leg up on recruiting and enticing gifted athletes eh?

The Region III-4A meet was hosted on your campus this past week(end) and there were SEVERAL prospects to view, I'm sure. The golf championships, baseball campionships, and now softball championships are being hosted there (have been).

Sort of what I liken to what ut-austin and tx a&m do in terms of the football and basketball championships. lol See talent on the field of play, university coach makes contact w/ high school coach, and the rest is history.

a lot of the participants, coaches, and parents said it was the best track regional meet they had ever been at. it ran very smoothly and featured real time results on the videoboard as well as video highlights.

It was III-4A AND IV-1A at the same time. We ran 2 regionals at one event.

There's no smack here McNeese75. I'm very serious. What they're doing is THOROUGHLY documented and SHSU has a very nice facility. I'm sure they're very proud of it.

If you guys can host football championships, you'll be going head to head w/ texas a&m and ut-austin (baylor) in terms of acquiring talent or making initial contact. I see nothing wrong w/ that.

PVAMU used to host all PVUIL championships. Football, basketball, track&field. THAT is how we were able to DOMINATE the way we did when there were 2 UILs. One for Negroes (PVUIL) and the White (UIL). Funny how things have changed. xreadx And all over athletics ($$$$$$). xrulesx lol

We do hold HS football playoffs as well. I can't remember who, but one game I was working last fall was one amazing football game.

With the new turf we will be getting this summer, we expect to hold even more as our old AstroTurf turns some schools away.

SHSU has hosted the regional track and field meet for several years...the 1A meet is a new one for SHSU (used to be at SFA)...

In fact, the regional track and field meet is the biggest $$$ winner for any event at the stadium throughout the year. Second biggest is some band competition, I forget which one...

SHSU with it's updated facilities (namely in baseball and softball) is getting more and more playoff dates. SHSU already hosts regionals in volleyball and basketball with Huntsville HS and SHSU doing a partnership on regional golf...

SHSU has great facilities to run such venues and is rather accessible, right off of I-45...there's no question we can do a great job at holding these...

Yeah, I knew about the playoff games there. My old HS has played quite a few there. lolxwhistlex
