Some sad news to report.
Given no more than three years to live when he was born in 1997, Hunter Kelly survived from 1997 til 2005. Hunter was the son of Jim Kelly and died of Krabbe Leukodystrophy, an inherited, fatal, nervous system disease. The Hunter's Hope Foundation has raised more than $6M and gave more than $3.8M to the study of other diseases.
Jim, the NFL HOF quarterback and his son both shared a Valentines' Day birthday. I will never forget the HOF speech that Kelly gave when he was inducted.
Best of luck to Jim Kelly, his family and foundation's effort to remember Hunter and continue educating society on this terrible disease.
