The only OOC game in October 2020 currently Princeton has is against Monmouth. I'm guessing that Princeton told Monmouth to go away and they would do them a solid later...

Hmm... I have a hard time even guessing Ivies' future schedule opponents.

They always seem to surprise us when announcing the full 10-game schedules for each year...

This also has to change too. xsmhx

So what does Army say? Or do they have a choice?

It appears that they have an opening in October 2020. But they haven't said anything about Princeton. I'm guessing that the game (if its true) is a bigger deal to Princeton than it is to Army.

Nothing from Monmouth either...

Princeton rules the world. Of course Army has no choice.

Plus, why would Army pass up an opportunity to play the greatest football team ever?

I wonder how many four star recruits Army has on their team.

A few of them may have 4 stars ... thirty years from now.

Army regularly played the Ives in the 1980s...nothing really new.

Hmm... isn't it about time for the Ivies to diversify their opponent selection by freeing up their uneven Ivy schedule for OOC play in the first 3 weeks of their season? xchinscratchx

It's awesome seeing two teams coming off double-digit win seasons schedule each other, it's just a shame Princeton couldn't lower their standards a little bit and play Rutgers for tradition's sake.

Princeton's band has already pissed off Army (in 1981) and Citadel (in 2008).

Wonder how they will rankle VMI. :)

Harvard actually beat Army once at Michie back then.

I think that was before the NCAA rule about bowl eligibility. Army had to get a waiver when they played Yale in 2014. It was considered a special case since it was the 100th anniversary of the Yale Bowl.

I'm sure it was...absolute ridiculous rule btw...some Ivies probably give out more $$$ for football to players than any other FCS program .

What makes you think that Princeton will have the greatest football team to ever take the field in a football game for that game against Army. Now on the other hand, they might arguably have the most decorated program in history.

Lots of threes, though.

There was no rule prohibiting them from playing. No waiver necessary.

I think what bulldog was saying is that the NCAA agreed to count an Army win against Yale that season towards bowl eligibility. Turned out to be a moot issue for a few reasons...

Did Army get a similar ok for the Princeton game? Or is Army confident that they can get six wins elsewhere?

It was reported that they got the bowl eligibility waiver. Not that it did them much good, after finishing 4-8.

Regardless of what happened in 2014, the bowls usually need more participants than they can get from the pool of winning (or 6-6) teams. Five of the last eight years, bowls have taken teams with losing records...a waiver is required for that. Routine approval if no 6-6 or better squad is available.

Army's actually losing the game hurt, too.
