FTR, I told a few SU alums if SU loses to Mac, we're kicking SU out of the SWAC.

I am giving the SWAC a little credit in my prediction and not sure if McNeese will have their feet under them yet. It is a game that can go either way in my opinion, but Southern started winning a lot towards the end and did a lot better against Alcorn the 2nd time around to end up at #2 in the SWAC (#1 in the West Div.) by the end of the season. They ended up the same as Alcorn at 0.857. I feel there is at least more known with SU at this point as good as a history as McNeese has. I think it should be a good game either way. Atomic gives SU a 34% chance in a fairly close game. I am just willing to be a little different on this call.

You had been talking about adding a poll, and Ursus has a poll going about adding a poll to a game thread which seems to have overwhelming approval. Have you found out if a poll for multiple games like you have here can be done by poll or not?

I hope I am wrong and some of the SLC teams can pull off some upsets and that McNeese doesn't lay an egg. McNeese fans still don't have a clue of what kind of team we will have this season.

News: Western Kentucky dismisses two players from team. RB Quinton Baker and OL Preston Mixon. Both were either starting or playing good time in games. How this will affect the game with UCA is unknown.

I was already disagreeing with Massey on this game. I think UCA has the talent to take WKU on. This should still work in your favor. I was actually a little surprised at Massey's prediction. Their rushing stats aren't that impressive and their RB depth is correlative. I can't help but think the OL loss will only make it worse. Maine showed WKU is vulnerable to FCS opponents. Maine had a great year last year, but I still think UCA can use this to their advantage as well.

cant wait to see ACU in Conway. Actually, can't wait for a home game. xlolx. If we beat Austin Peay on the road and struggle with ACU at home, we then go on the road again to Hawaii. It's a travel type of season...glad to have the Cats come here though. Look forward to a battle!

I'm proud of how we played against UNT. It started off rough but we bounced back well and gave them a tougher game than I'm sure they were expecting. Their QB Fine is amazing and definitely lives up to the hype. We won't see an offense like that for the rest of the season so I'm not worried about how our defense played. I think we are much improved over last year and the playoffs are a realistic goal.

I think the season will be a battle at the top among UCA (the clear leader based on their FBS win), SELA (their good win v. AGS top 10), NIcholls, SHSU, ACU, and UIW. Lamar, SFA, and McNeese still have to prove something. HBU surprised with a good showing v. FBS UTEP. But, I think that is more a reflection of how bad UTEP is. NWST seems to be the bottom feeder.

My observations about UCA. Smith is one of the best QB’s in the SLC and that’s saying a lot in a conference filled with good signal callers. The Bears kept their composure and fought through adversity after falling behind by 2 TD’s to a FBS team in the road. I agree that until proven otherwise they are the team to beat in our conference.

I think the season will be a battle at the top among UCA (the clear leader based on their FBS win), SELA (their good win v. AGS top 10), NIcholls, SHSU, ACU, and UIW. Lamar, SFA, and McNeese still have to prove something. HBU surprised with a good showing v. FBS UTEP. But, I think that is more a reflection of how bad UTEP is. NWST seems to be the bottom feeder.

I look at it this way, in the past few years we’ve never scored on P5 schools. Ever.

With a new coach, new system, lots of freshman we put up 17 on baylor.
