2nd small school player, Jacoby Jones of Lane, taken in the 3rd round. I think all small schoolers should stick together so I thought I would post it.

He originally went to Southeastern Louisiana before heading to Lane.

Texans have found some good 'small school' stars before (i.e Jerome Mathis, Hampton)...

Abramson graduate Jacoby Jones, who started out as a track athlete at Southeastern Louisiana, then transferred to Lane College in Jackson, Tenn., was taken by the Houston Texans in the third round of the NFL draft.
Jones had 2,750 yards on 200 catches at Lane. Being at a Division II school, he didn't get noticed that much during the regular season, but he was invited to the East-West Shrine game, where he had four catches for 57 yards.
He is 6-2, 210 pounds and ran a 4.5 in the 40.

Jacoby's head coach at Lane College (Johnnie Cole) is a Texas Southern alum. I got the phone call Saturday night from Coach Cole and Texans' Vice President of Communications (Tony Wyllie who is a Texas Southern alum) contacted him to inform him of the Texans' selection 5 minutes before it became official.

FYI:

The Texans' first round pick (Amobi Okoye) father is a Texas Southern (undergrad) and Prairie View A&M (masters) alum. xthumbsupx

Woodhead 2,700+ yds as a junior, I wonder if he can repeat it this fall.
