Furman Announces AD hire, Jason Donnelly out of Villanova https://furmanpaladins.com/news/2019...at-furman.aspx (https://furmanpaladins.com/news/2019/7/25/general-villanovas-jason-donnelly-named-athletics-director-at-furman.aspx)

At first blush, appears to be a great hire for Furman.

When you look at the landscape of private schools in the country that are nationally relevant in both FCS football and D1 men's basketball, it is pretty much only Villanova. Furman just landed a guy that was near the top of 'Nova's athletics department.

Top notch FBS basketball (that's an understatement!) and FCS football champions too

Definitely a great hire for Furman. When (not if) our current AD leaves for an FBS job, Jason will be on the short list...

What exactly is FBS basketball?

I assume your intent was big-time basketball, but it really is a bad term.
There are FBS conferences with bad basketball. Most FCS programs with good basketball play basketball in non-football conferences (I remember when the CAA football conference was called the A-10 football conference, but that has been a long time).
