WKU got a four year home-and-home with Army, a home-and-home with Navy, two for ones with Iowa St and Indiana among their non-Sun Belt games...
AD wants six home games and six away games each year - four each coming from Sun Belt play.
I know I'll be keeping an eye on this move-up as will others who love conference realignment discussion...
----------------
The Hilltoppers will play host to Indiana in September 2010 while Iowa State is slated to visit in September 2015. WKU will also have non-Sun Belt Conference home games against Ball State in 2008, Bowling Green in 2010, Miami (Ohio) in 2011, Navy in 2013, and Army in 2014 and ’16.
In addition to beginning the 2007 campaign at defending national champion Florida, WKU will also play contests at Alabama (2008 and ’12) and Nebraska (2010). Other non-league road games include trips to IU in 2008 and ’11, Iowa State in 2012 and ’14, Miami (Ohio) in 2008, Army in 2013 and ’15, and Navy in 2014.

They have gotten a few home games with major teams - but will have to 'settle' for one FCS home game a year, most likely.

Impressive.
Western Kentucky is actually in South Central Kentucky? That makes perfect sense

Army and Navy are fun because for the fans and team to go to those venues -- it's quite the experience. When those teams come to your place, it works well as a good marketing opportunity as well as a chance for your institution to show some pride for those individuals who will go far beyond the football field when it comes to representing the branches of our country's armed forces branches.

I think most of us would think it a great opportunity and be honored to play Army and Navy

WKU has to watch out for the bigger name teams to back out when it's their turn to come to WKU. This has happened to Fresno St. a few times.

Those are good teams to start out with, and getting them to Bowling Green is a huge plus. Nice job WKU. Hope you guys do well this year. xnodx

I could be wrong, but I read on the WKU board that the Iowa State series was actually 3 for 2. I personally am impressed with the teams they've signed so far. Though it pains me to say it, I think WKU has thought out their transition process much better than most other schools that have attempted it.
And yes, EKU really isn't all that far east in the State. Morehead State is in the far east and Murray State is in the far west. What I've always said about it is that if you drew a line straight down the middle then EKU would be on the eastern half and WKU would be in the west. xlolx
Every performer that came to campus during my tenure there commented on our lack of a true "Eastern" location. The campus was originally a Presbyterian school called......Central University. A few of its buildings are still in use.

This wasn't football, but last year (as in 2005-06) Florida was supposed to play at EKU in basketball as part of a 2 for 1 and they bought their way out of it.
