Was never a Notre Dame fan, but decided to sidetrack a bit on my trip from Arizona to CT for my 50th high school reunion and check out the campus.
One thing I will say for sure, Notre Dame Stadium is a classic. It was pouring rain, so no pictures, but as a college football fan I'm glad I made the trip and saw where some of the greats played.

Grew up a huge ND fan! Was out there in 2017 for a game against Miami(OH) and absolutely loved the experience. The entire campus is alive on Game Day. Various student organizations set up food areas and what not in the quad near the Administration building (Golden Dome) which is super cool. I would love to get back for a big time game one day.
I went to the Big House last year and also enjoyed that game experience. Although, it was insanely hot which made it a bit uncomfortable.

Did you get a chance to visit the Grotto? Pretty neat. Touchdown Jesus. Interesting campus.

Would have had to get out of the car to see everything. I'll be back through, sometime, I'm sure.

Got lucky in 1976 to see the great Alabama-Notre Dame game in South Bend, where 'bama rallied from a two TD deficit and was driving late in the fourth quarter deep into ND territory when Browner intercepted for the Irish. Great game. ND 21-18. It was 'bama's first ever visit to South Bend. Law school buddy, who was ND grad, had an extra ticket. Was in the "Big House" a couple times, but not impressed. Too far away from the field. Would rather watch on TV. Very impressive when you first arrive and look down into the crater, but once the game starts, ya wish you were sitting in old Taylor Stadium at Lehigh.

The Big House is indeed huge!! I was in row 40'ish in the corner which gave me pretty good depth perception. I wouldn't have wanted to sit much higher unless i between the 20's. Notre Dame Stadium is definitely more architecturally beautiful than the Big House. It seems rather obvious ND spent more money on their renovations than Michigan did....

Reminded me of ol' JFK Stadium in Philly, fka Memorial Stadium, which I was in for the 1969 Army-Navy Game. If you were up high, even on the 50 yard line, you were so far away from the field.
