Amazing to see how quickly Clay Hendrix and Pete Lusk have turned around the Furman offensive line and built impressive depth.
The offensive line should be one of the strengths of Furman this season and next season. FuBear can speak to this far better than I, it appears to me CCH wants athletic, nasty offensive linemen - many of the young players played multiple positions in high school.
OT Bo Layton 6-7 287 R-JR - starter
OT Caleb Auer 6-3 266 R-JR - has started several games
OT Ross Detamore 6-4 263 R-SO - started spring game
OT Andy Godwin 6-4 281 R-SR - starter
OT Cody Wyatt 6-2 268 R-JR - backup
C Cole Neely 6-3 273 JR - starter
OG Jordan Harris 6-4 288 R-JR - starter
OG Reed Kroeber 6-4 286 R-JR - starter
OG Bo McKinney 6-7 307 R-SO - started several games
OG Anderson Tomlin 6-5 275 R-FR- highly regarded
C Evan Jumper 6-4 240 FR - in the spring locked down the #2 center position
C Nick Vivona 6-3 315 FR - PWO
OG Jacob Johanning 6-3 270 FR - played DE and OT in high school, CCH like him a lot
OG Dan Dodd, III 6-4 290 FR - played small ball in Florida, a weightlifting champ, chatter is he's the top incoming lineman
OG Wyatt Hughes 6-4 290 FR -PWO
OT Pearson Toomey 6-3 250 FR - de-commit from Army - weightlifter, nasty
OT Jackson Soapes 6-2 280 FR - PWO

looks like a big group for Nathan Young to work with. He’s a good line coach and man.

There will be very few teams with as much experience on the O-Line as Samford will have this season. There is only one position that will change, and that is the RT. Soph. Gavin Orr has had a good deal of PT to groom for his starting role. and has proven to be very capable. The rest of these guys have had years of playing together. It might be noted that two of these guys were 247Sports 3*** players coming out of HS and the others were all 2** players. I realize that can mean very little, but I will say that these guys are very talented players. Will Hatcher, with Hodges gone, develop a better running game behind this big group and field a more balanced offense?

Coach Young has a very green group to whip into shape, but yes he is a go getter, with lots of positive energy.
I look forward to the fruits of the labor.

There's been perhaps no greater transformation in the Furman program than the OL.
The Furman coaching staff doesn't seem interested in having just a bunch of overweight no necks. Conditioning has become a focal point with an emphasis on "good weight." Some of these guys have slimmed down considerably since Hendrix arrived. Those guys are all aggressive, physical, and can run.
When you watch the high school film of Furman targets along the OL - you see some things in common. Most of the targets have a long frame (usually 6'4+) and have a big-time motor. Furman is targeting the type of guys that lead the runner downfield, block their man into the dirt, get up, and find go find another guy to hit.
