2 more homeruns tonight, now 14, tied with Pujols for most ever in the month of April, and still have 6 more games.
This has got to be one of the most impressive starts to a season I have ever seen

Wasn't it just about three weeks ago that a bunch of folks on AGS were talking about what an awful player A-Rod was and how he was the most overpaid player of all-time? How bad would the Yanks be without him right now? If he could only pitch, maybe the Evil Empire could win some games. Nice pitching tonight in Tampa Bay.

Yes but that leads us to this question. Why now is he producing so well? Could it be that he can opt out of his contract after this season and a big season ups his value? Which then leads us to ask was he giving 100% the past 3 seasons in NY?
While in Texas he was great at first but fell off in his final season there... Was it because he was sick of losing and stopped giving 100%?
He never wanted to go to New York... he wanted to go to Boston even reworking his contract that was eventually nixed by the MLBPA putting off the trade to Boston.

damn he is amazing... and i think there is a difference between not giving 100% and not being your best... i think he was giving all that he could the last couple of years but it just wasnt all there sort of like now he still is giving thing he can but he is able to do better...
if that post doesnt make sense then join me cuz i am confused about what i wrote too

A-Rod is a complicated dude, but he is also probably the most talented shortstop in the history of baseball. IMO, he would have been better staying in Seattle. He just isn't the type of personality to be a team leader. He needs to be left alone to just play.
I don't think he has ever played less than hard. Every player has ups and downs. You've got to remember, here is A-Rod — the best SS in baseball— being asked to moved to 3B because they wouldn't DARE ask Derek Jeter (who was a far INFERIOR SS at the time) to move to 2B (the move that made the most sense in terms of making the Yankees a better team). You are right, A-Rod would have been a much better fit with Boston in every aspect. I often wonder what would have happened if the Mariners had drafted Darren Driefort No. 1 instead of A-Rod. At the time, there was some question as to whether the Mariners had the money, or would spend the money, to sign Rodriguez. If Seattle had gone for Driefort (everybody's No. 2 pick), A-Rod would have ended up in Los Angeles, where he could have played in a much more relaxed environment and where I believe he would probably still be playing.

Best SS. The best player ever is Babe Ruth. Until someone is responsible for single-handedly changing the game, hitting 714 HRs with all of those other incredible numbers and also establishing himself as one of the greatest left-handed pitchers of his generation, I have to go with Ruth as No. 1 all-time. The best all-around player I've seen with my own eyes was Willie Mays. The best pitcher I've seen in person was Sandy Koufax.

Mine too!
There is an old rumor that Ted Williams used Shoeless Joe Jackson as an unofficial batting coach. I could see Ted meeting with Joe and talking hitting. Anyone else ever hear that?

I hate ARod...he's a Yankee...It's genetic. xrolleyesx :D
But I seriously doubt he's juiced...he's always been a great player...xnodx
The NY media expected too much and give him no credit for what he does do...
(I think he might have had this same problem in Boston with the size of his contract)

No kidding. I saw him hit a home run at safeco at my first ever pro game, I think I was 9 or 10. My young heart was broken when he took the money and ran to texas. :(
