Apparently envy runs deep in Yankee Country right down to the writers covering the team.
During his live blog during the game Peter Abraham a beat writer for the Journal News wrote this when Josh Beckett left the game after 6.1 innings having allowed 4 ER and striking out 7.
Josh Beckett allowed four earned runs on nine hits in 6.2 innings and got a standing ovation from the pack of drunks (pack of drunks had a strike through effect.) fans here when he came off the field.
What would they have done if he had pitched well?
As for Alex Rodriguez, the 31 RBI this month match the best month of his career (August 2003). There are eight games left this month.
Its ironic he would comment on a reaction the fans at Fenway gave considering your lucky to see that reaction often regardless of a performance. Whereas in New Yorks Yankee Stadium Alex Rodriguez would get a curtain call for a solo homerun in the sixth inning to pull New York to back with 7. Average curtain calls at the stadium prolly easily top 10 ina week the Yankees play 7 games there.
