The annual Green and Gold Game did little to settle who will emerge as the starting QB for W&M next season. Senior Mike Potts, Junior Jake Phillips, and Sophomore R.J. Archer all played well. Archer showed why he is clearly in the mix with strong and accurate throws, some sensational runs, and displaying poise and command of the offense.

What about the 'D'..??? Like UD.. if it doesn't improve you're in for another long year.

Hopeful signs on the defensive side. With many key guys sitting out the game, the focus was on individuals. The secondary looks to be improved, with Sophomore transfer Robert Livingston looking very good at Safety along with Sophomore David Caldwell who looks to be the other starter after switching from Cornerback. The starters at CB will be Junior Derek Cox and Sophomore Max Harris.
The defensive front has three starters looking set in DE Adrian Tracy and DTs CJ Herbert and Sean Lissemore, all Sophomores. Freshmen Derek Toon (DT) and Bryan Jean-Pierre (DE) have both looked good. Herbert spent time at DE as well as DT in the game. Two other freshmen who sat out, but look to be in the mix next Fall are DE Garreth Hissong and DT Kyle Allison.
With the return of LB Josh Rutter in August, the defense looks like it will be better this year.

I think RJ Archer will be your starter.....seems that he adds another dimension to the Tribe O!

After Archer's performance today, I doubt anyone would be shocked if he ended up with the job, but it certainly is not decided. Many were not aware of how well he throws the ball, but they are now.
One thing's for sure, if he doesn't get the QB job, he'll be on the field somewhere. Really a terrific athlete.
