I liked the idea that I picked up from the GWFC folks. However, I am going to do a bit of a slant to hopefully pass time before next football season.
Below is the first-team from last year's All-SLC team in terms of the guys who are still in the Southland Conference with their updated classification. I also added second-teamers who were postseason All-SLC.
Anyhow, I wanted to see who people thought would at the end of the season make the All-SLC team that is not on this list? Who are your players to look for from your team? Any more thoughts on some of your players listed?

For SHSU...
Offensively...
QB Rhett Bomar, JR. I don't know how you can leave his name off. Big things are expected from him though many feel he does not have the WR corps that Dustin Long and Josh McCown had during their playoff runs. Perhaps this year may be expecting too much, but the Kats fan base is looking forward to the next two years of Bomar.
OL Brennan Williams, SR. A consistent force upfront on a Kats offensive line that has really protected the QB. Bomar is going to need protection and hopefully the trench battles will allow the Kats to succeed both on the ground and in the air.
TE Blake Martin, SR. He's mentioned up above, but I do think he's an All-American candidate, something I wanted to re-state right here.
Defensively...
DB Scorpio Babers, SR. An HM selection as far as the SLC team goes last year. He's going to be the starter all the Bearkat fans will look to in terms of making an impact in the secondary this year.
LB Luke McCall, SO. McCall was the second-leading tackler on the team last year with 60, after only starting the final six games. Led the Kats with 6 TFLs last year. This kid's name seemed to be called everytime. Hope he can continue strong.
DL David Branch, SR. Was an All-SLC HM pick in 2005. He was out last year due to a medical redshirt. With Chris Brown also on the line this year, I think Branch is going to emerge as someone who can get into the backfield and hopefully answer the major questions surrounding the Kats pass rush.

Pasteur is probably the best returning OL in the league. I expect a big year out of Bradley George. He might be the best QB in the league by the end of the year.

George is definitely a special player. I'm not really sure how far he can carry the Bobcats on his shoulder.
The SLC is hopefully going to feature quite a few explosive offenses this year, which should really make things fun. I really like Southall and Runnels from SFA. You just never know what Whitehead from McNeese is going to do and then, the questions surround how well the Kats will do with Bomar at the helm (especially after the spring game)...

Chris Brown will probably end up being all-southland if he can stay injury-free

For Southeastern Louisiana, Steven Smith graduated last year, but I agree Jay Lucas will be a strong candidate at RB and Tommy Connors will be in the mix at SS. We have some others capable of emerging but we'll have to let the season play out to see what happens. Watch for Jamarr Garrett and Merrick Lanaux at WR and Marquis Powell at safety.
