Carmen “Carm” Cozza, Yale's legendary head football coach, died on Jan. 4, 2018, at the age of 87. Cozza, the father figure to more than 2,000 Yale student-athletes from four different decades, molded young men into future leaders while leading the Bulldogs for 32 seasons. The College Football Hall of Fame inductee and the winningest coach in Ivy history led the Elis to 10 league championships while serving the university from 1963 to 2017 as a coach, athletics director, advisor and broadcaster.
