2007 FBS to FCS Transfer Year to Date

Listed below are transfers by conference and teams from all of FCS teams websites. Only teams with transfers are listed. If I am missing any teams, conferences or transfers, let me know as I can update my list.The conference's are in no particular order..I had to list them below as I could not convert my word document to a bleeping *** file attachment! I could not confirm Alcorn ST, Texas Southern, Howard, St. Francis, South Carolina ST. (S.C. State website messed up by hackers.. ) & Morehead State. There were a couple of programs that had a high amount of JC's transfers this year and I noted them...JC's are another whole topic together..Eastern Illinois had 3 transfers from Bowling Green..anyone know of any problems at B.G.?

55 altogether..I will be keeping track of starters and will be curious to see if any help to get a team to the playoffs..Some transfers end up as bench warmers, some are immediate players..will see. I will update the list as more transfer in the summer. If anyone wants a direct list, send me a message.

I think the binding National Letter of Intent process only applies to athletic scholarships (or athletic grants-in-aid).

Rumor has it that there are possibly two defensive linemen transfers FOR APP.

One from an SEC school, who is enrolled now, and is supposedly the real deal. Another possibly from an ACC school, that was a 2nd stringer.xthumbsupx

Your going from 85 Schollies to 63 Schollies. It's still D-1. Do you think the NCAA will eventually make FBS transfers sit out a year? It will be interesting to see how the next fews years develop.

Why is it not "fair"? There's no NCAA regulation that says a transfer can only to go to certain schools - everybody is allowed by the NCAA to take in a transfer. Sounds pretty fair to me.

As for eventually making a rule to make them sit out, again, I'd be wholesale against it. We keep making rules that appear to be only for the sake of the football game on the field, and just seem to disregard what would be best for the most important person involved, that being the student athlete. You see less and less transfers of problem kids anymore and much more of the more benign kind, the one where the kid either wants a chance to play more or just have a change of scenery. It would appear to be heavy handed to punish such a kid just because we want our brand of football to be somehow elevated by insisting that he's not dropping a level.

Schools that don't accept athletic transfers do so by their own volition - that's a choice they make. Schools that transfers don't go to, well, you can't force someone to go to your school. Either you have things that attract them or you don't. At the end of the day, it's the kid's educational choice that should matter.

I think transfers give an athlete flexibility in alot of ways.
A chance at more playing time in a D-1 program.
Closer to home and family
Academic choices not available at their orginal school
Maybe just a better academic environment.
I dont know if it is fair or not but people like changes for the better.
