One thing though to maybe make it better and other folks can chime in if they have an idea. When it comes down to the final round, the outcome is pretty much decided for many folks. A lot of folks purposely picked EWU just because it was the only way to maybe win, or just didn't play it. I know you don't want to make it so anybody can win on the final game (why play all the other weeks then, I get it), but maybe adding a somewhat difficult specific bonus question, worth a few more points, would put it within reach of just a few more players? I don't know. Like I said, that is why we do it each week, but it usually becomes mathematically impossible for all but the top couple to even have a shot. Might be more exciting if more folks had a possibility to win. Not sure how that could be done fairly, but just bring it up to chew on.

I would like to change it up, but I'm thinking of going in a different direction. I almost did so this season, but decided not to at the last minute.

Next season once we get to the quarterfinals, I think people should make their picks through the championship game that week. That way you're not just picking QF, but also the SF and Final games. So, yes, you have to guess ahead, but that way you're not just getting desperate the final weekend. This keeps a little bit of the fun of filling out a bracket and also allows you to not have to worry about your picks during the SF and Final rounds.
