Per the ProJo:
It looks like Bryant University has found its new football coach.
According to the Miami Herald, Chris Merritt - the coach of the private Christopher Columbus High School in Miami - is expected to be named the Bulldogs new coach.
Merritt has been the coach of the Explorers for 18 years and has reached the playoffs in all but one season, the Herald reports.
Former coach James Perry left Bryant to take over the Brown University football program earlier this month.
And here's the reporting from Miami:
Multiple sources told the Miami Herald that Merritt is expected to be named the head coach at Bryant University, a Division I Football Championship Subdivision team in the Northeast Conference. A formal announcement is expected Thursday afternoon. FloridaHSFootball.com was the first to report the news (https://floridahsfootball.com/).

Really interesting hire here for Bryant. This could be a tremendous move that opens up the S. Florida and Miami area for recruiting.

That's what Notre Dame was hoping for with Gerry Faust (Ohio, anyway).

Depends on where they from and previous experience. Troy Taylor was hired by EWU from a high school. He was the OC that the Bizon faced in 2016. After one season at EWU he was hired as the Utah OC. Two years later and he's now the HC at Sac State.

While there are examples of successful high school coaches that succeed in college (e.g., Paul Brown), the games are different at every level, which is why college coaches aren't always the best NFL coaches or that college basketball coaches usually struggle in the NBA.
More recent football example: Todd Dodge, the former Texas quarterback who was head coach at Southlake Carroll (TX). Over a four year run he was 79-1 with four state titles and one loss in the finals. Can't miss, right? Hired at North Texas. Three year record, 6-37, fired mid-season.
Went back to high school coaching at Austin Westlake. Last four years, 52-8.

It was a trolling attempt that went right over your head, probably because its not your school, although a school with similar abysmal colored uniforms

Nick Hill at SIU is another example of it not working so well
SIU alum
Coached at the HS level for a few years
Became OC for 1 year at SIU and then took over the head job
It's not working well.
