Definitional target. If not, unsportsmanlike. Refs cannot allow defenders to have uncontested shots at the QBs head when he is sliding. I know its a borderline call, but you have to enforce it.

I believe that any player that slides has given themselves up and is defenseless. That's why it's down at the start of the slide.

He is getting the crap knocked out of him every time he turns around. I think they told him not to get hurt and sliding was his first instinct. Its understandable to me. Unfortunate he was short but he just misjudged it by a hair.

No one can. NDSU is a Top 25 FBS team. I don't think SDSU is any better than Maine or EWU. If anything I think EWU might be a little better. SDSU has a solid program but they're no where in Bison's class. FCS and the MVFC is NDSU everyone else. JMU could legitimately compete with Shor.

It also doesn't work against a great offensive line like NDSU's.
