The Granite Bowl is back on!

https://dartmouthsports.com/news/2018/12/6/fb-dartmouth-unh-renew-rivalry-on-gridiron.aspx

I know that Dartmouth was getting a lot of inquiries from fans asking when we'd start scheduling more competitive OOC teams. We've won something like 15 nonconference games in a row. While some were CAA teams, the rest were NEC, PFL, and PL teams.
We beat our 2018 OOC teams by a combined 117-14.

Hopefully both UNH and Dartmouth will be strong teams in the next decade and give New England some good games!

Very happy this rivalry is starting back up again, if UNH refuses to travel far for FCS OOC then they need an ivy on the schedule every year IMO

Very Cool!

I like it! Fans can travel a couple hours to see an away game against a challenging opponent. In the past the rivalry was dominated by one team or the other. Now we may be entering an era where the teams are evenly matched.

Good for them, hopefully it is a competitive series moving forward.

This cannot be emphasized enough. Dartmouth won pretty much the first twenty games, and then UNH returned the favor.

Hopefully from here on, the outcome will be in doubt...with Dartmouth coming out the victor most times!!!

Good to hear about this series renewal. I went to the Harvard media guide and found that the Crimson haven’t played UMass since 1988. Now UMass is an FBS independent with a new coach and a program in need of direction. Could be a good opportunity for Bob Scalise to pick up the phone. One can always dream...

UMass - Harvard would be a great matchup!

Princeton would probably beat Rutgers if they played.

Harvard doesn't seem to want to schedule any team OOC that they think has a remote chance of beating them. They are probably already looking for a replacement for Rhode Island.

Safe to say the URI experiment, well, backfired. Harvard-UMass wont happen. Crimson probably scrambling to get Lehigh and Lafayette on board.

Princeton would probably beat Rutgers if they played.

And next year would be the 150th anniversary of the first football game ever played, which was between the two schools.

Yes. IMO, right now the Tigers have the stronger program.

That series is over. It was a 4-game set, and the two teams split it. Harvard still has an open date for the first Saturday in October 2019.

Really? Better hurry to find someone or you'll probably end up with some D-II opponent.

Or is that the main plan?

Colgate?
I’d take it in a heartbeat.

Don’t you have a Dinesh D’Souza fundraiser to attend?
