View Full Version : All-MVFC Teams Coming today

I'm going to make a couple predictions because I know how good the people are in the MVFC and that their awards are usually spot on for what you expect. The 2nd team in this league would beat the first team in probably 5 other leagues.
1. I bet Christion and Stick both get 1st team. Stick is the best QB but Christion likely get mentioned with him (whether he truly ties in votes or not) because of his career. Both deserve first team based on what they have done.
2. My other prediction is that the WIU FB will get first team over the guy at NDSU. He has had a very good year and should get it.
I'll be interested to see if the entire NDSU starting DL gets All-MVFC or not and whether Rozeboom of SDSU indeed gets 1st team. I would think the voting there was close because I could see an argument to put him on 2nd team.
What do you guys think?

I'd assume it's going to go to Christion.

I really think both get 1st team. Stick is the best one but Christion deserves 1st team as well with his career. My guess is then the WIU or Indiana State QB would get 2nd team if I'm right about both getting 1st team. I talked to several voters and it seemed almost split with Stick and Christion so I believe it was likely very close and they will both get 1st team.

FB? Typo? None of our RBs had stellar seasons as near as I can tell.
I assume that's supposed to mean either D-Lineman Khalen Saunders or LB Pete Swenson, right?

I'm interested to see who's going to be the 1st team/2nd team running backs. James Robinson is the obvious choice for top back, but after that it could go in a lot of different directions. Ja'Quan Keys went down midseason, but he was playing even better than Robinson at the time, so does he get the first team nod? Are neither NDSU or SDSU going to get any RB higher than honorable mention even though they were the best rushing teams in the Valley (along with InSU)?

Curt Mallory 100% deserved Coach of the Year.
0-11 last year. Could have been in the playoffs this year.

FWIW, YSU had 3 players on the first team - RB McCaster, a walk on, OG Wiggins an early commit under Wolf before he was fired and LS Wethli, another walk on. So much for the recruiting skills of Bozo.
Mallory was well deserving for Coach honors and his team SHOULD have been in the playoffs.

I gotta give Clenz his due. He said good things about Boyle when I asked about him when he transferred from Iowa. I was skeptical but he has proved to be a pretty solid QB. I’m pretty sure he started the season on the bench because of a minor knee injury

I have to say, I don't relish the thought of another solid MVFC team competing for at-large playoff spots...just makes things tougher for us. With a good coach, a bunch of guys returning from a surprisingly good season, and a very promising recruiting class...it looks like the Sycamores are going to be in the mix for at least the next few years. I mean...LB Griffith is only a sophomore, Boyle is a Junior, Nunez (JR), Moss (JR), Wozniak (JR), Edwards (JR), Bonner (JR), and Dante Hendrix....a FRESHMAN.
We're going to have to really step things up if we don't want this year's loss to Indiana State to turn into a losing streak.

you had our LBs 1 year younger. im told our recruiting is going well
at one point this year we had lost a starting RB, DE, LB and WR #2 RB, out for the season
we also played a game or so during our 5 game win stretch with 4 WR out

Whoops...was copying off the MVFC press releases for all-conference teams. Still, Griffth for another year is nice.

Much like every other successful coach at any other collegeI meant that as more of, ISUb rarely has good seasons and when they do, the coach is gone. It was meant to be, they never have the chance to have continuity and keep the same staff and build the program.

Glad he got a shot somewhere and is making the most of it.
I'd have loved to have seen him at UNI, but with Eli still being on the roster this year his PT situation wouldn't have changed this year.
