Finished the year with 15.0 sacks, led FCS football in that category.
AS A FRESHMAN... In only TEN games... and we play Citadel and Wofford who run triple option so you can't hardly get a sack !!
the Jerry Rice award, he's one of 20 finalists.
For what it's worth, the FCS record for career sacks is 42.0 set by Chris Gocong of Cal-Poly back in mid 2000's. 15 in year one for Mr Hope !! he COULD, with some luck, become the ALL-TIME leader in sacks for FCS
I am just publishing a real positive. Not pushing Furman for playoffs :D
That is pretty amazing - 15 sacks as a freshman >> in only TEN games??
Many of you remember GoCong I bet.. Hope may have a shot at GoCongs 42 sack record for our division. GoCong played 5 or 6 years in NFL if I recall
