Surprised that Stony Brook and Nicholls lines are as low as they are. These do confirm that the Wofford/Elon is really the only game that's a toss-up. That's not to say that all the favorites will win but any underdog other than Elon pulling off a win would be a pretty big upset IMO.

I would give the points with Montana State, Towson, Wofford, UNI, and Nicholls

I would take the points with Delaware, SEMO, and ETSU, although JMU could run it up to try to prove a point.

Are you thinking a more realistic line would be Towson -21? I think they could cover another TD past where the line opened.

JSU will go as the offensive line goes. OL was going pretty good the other night. Gotta keep it going.

30 might be a tad optimistic.

If the CAA is as good as advertised then they should be able to win by 3 scores. Just my opinion.

Well, regionalization has something to do with how ugly some of these spreads are. If you really went with 9 vs 24, 10 vs 23, etc. I would expect you could have at least a few decent matchups. But this??? Out of 8 games, 5 have spreads that are more than 2 TDs.

yes, the Elon Wofford game is a tough one to pick for me......

Wofford has everything going for them, home game, Elon injuries, the Triple Option, CAA vs Southren Conference is what Elon has on there side..... went into JMU and won and looked good in the trenches

I would think 20 is way too big for UD/JMU. I would think 12-14 is more appropriate. They must be ignoring the weather forecast and believing the Delaware QB situation is less than favorable.

how much rain are we talking about? that sure is one thing in Delaware's favor, as far as the QB situation, nobody knows as practice is closed, probably see more than one. Not many Hen fans feel very good about our chances after the Nova game, in fact the last 3 games have left a sour mood on gohens.

somehow someway we need to figure out how to get JMU playing like you did against New Hampshire, JMU certianly can be a night and day kind of team this year. your RB's were breaking off some long runs vs Towson but they are not a very good CAA defense..... I would have to think we will come out stong on defense as we seem to always play JMU as good as we are bad vs Nova....... having said all that, this game could get real ugly real fast.....

FWIW I'm pretty sure the CAA team to beat a socon team in the playoffs in the last ~6 years was (#1 seed) New Hampshire over Chattanooga (in a thriller) in 2014.

On the top of my head (not including GSU beating ODU in 2011/2012)
Wofford over UNH 2012
Furman over Elon last year

And that's it.

CAA and SoCon don't play much and that's tragic

18 point margin is better than 27.5. LOL. just having fun

LOL. I hear ya. I think those type metric had Furman losing to Wofford by 15. We WON by 20. They also don't take into, account coaching which I think we have. Hendrix took a 3 win team... First year won 8 games and playoffs and his 2nd year SoCon Champs !

Its MATCHUPS as much as talent. Oh well we will see how it goes

Moving on, Personally I think SoCon goes 0-2 or 1-1. SLC probably 1-2?

It is a shame with financial constraint forcing FCS regionalization causes seeding randomization. Obviously we would want 9 vs 24, 10 vs 23, 11 vs 22 etc. with unlimited money. instead sometime we get 9 vs 12 with regionalization. So sometimes playoff winning percent isn't representative for a conference until you take a ten or twenty year sample.

Everyone have a great thanksgiving

c-hen, just got to watch the game as I was involved in a couple shows that consumed my entire yesterday.

poured most of the night but stopped about an hour before the game. Field drains really well, so there didn't seem to be much impact on the game. Little sliding or slipping and no issues with ball security.

Turned out just like I thought: a 2-score game dominated by defense. Looked like UD played some 3-3-5 which gives us fits and it seemed like our offense did what it usually does -- play inconsistently with dropped passes and goofy penalties. I don't know how many plays our OC has in the playbook, but we seem to get 2, maybe 3 decent drives per game. That is usually enough as our defense and special teams can create short fields at any point in a game.

Our defense was pretty lights out against a not-at-full-strength UD offense. Outside of the gadget plays and the late drive when we were playing 2-high safeties, you guys' O was pretty much an effort in futility.

Nice season for the Hens, though.

Honestly, with the weather like it's going to be, if we get up early on them, which I anticipate we will, I can see them packing it in like USD did on a lot of their tackles which leads to big plays and lopsided scores. See the playoff game against UNH last year.

Not sure if that happens, they get some cold weather in Pittsburg and they don’t play in a dome. They sure didn’t quit after getting worked the entire first half by Towson.

Didn't ol' Stiggy leave Christion in the game well into the 4th in last year's quarterfinal blowout against UNH when he was rumored to hurt his hand before his 9 turnover debacle at JMU?

Learned his lesson perhaps?

Yes. What makes it worse is he was rumored to have hurt it in the final regular season game and then was rumored to have re-injured it or made it worse very late against UNH.
