SYRACUSE, N.Y.-- The 18th-ranked Syracuse Orange withstood an early barrage from the visiting team before earning an 85-49 non-conference win at the Carrier Dome in the season opener for both teams. North Dakota leaped out to a quick 6-0 advantage and held the lead for most of the opening period before the home team got rolling from deep, stretching their lead to 11 at the break.
