Really, somebody at NSU needs to make a phonecall.
I did shoot an e-mail to NSU.
Memphis admin is either asleep or arrogant?
How about a tussle with JaxState on the 15th?

Is this common to have schedules not locked in by April? Seems REALLY late to me... I remember being quite upset in mid/late Feb last year when JMU still didn't have their schedule set. But April??? C'mon guys! xeekx

The later we wait, the harder its gonna get. I can't imagine that the delay is for any other reason than money, which is sad IMO

Nicholls St is playing Nevada...
Already announced on this board by a Colonel fan saying Memphis was premature in announcing it when it occurred from the Memphis end.

Interesting...I was excited a while back when the Memphis schedule was released that they were playing Nicholls b/c then I would have a chance to go and see Nicholls play in person, but looks like that won't be happening now.

I'm not sure that Nicholls State has any true "open dates" as of now. From what I've read, I think the Colonels have a tentative 11-game schedule already filled. They just need to finalize some things.
But I would LOVE a home-and-home with App State...MUCH more than playing Southern Arkansas.....AGAIN! xbangx xbangx xbangx xbangx xbangx

That's what I saw too. I was just going to find it on the other thread on here. What I wouldn't give to get D-II Southern Arkansas and/or NAIA Texas College off of there! xmadx

Agreed. Those are two FBS games that are at least a possible win, but you're really hurting yourself for possible playoffs.
PSUing yourselves. Could have a really good team and not have a D-I win in four OOC games. xtwocentsx
Edit - I don't think UCA counts as D-I this year either. xconfusedx

State of things in Louisiana...
Nicholls St used to put together some decent schedules pre-Katrina. 2004 saw the Colonels play Eastern Washington, Florida A&M, North Dakota St, Texas Southern and Western Carolina.

We are looking for a home game. I am guessing that App St isn't going to happen because neither team wants to go on the road. We are kind of in a bind because we already have a DII game scheduled.

I would love to get Davidson on the schedule in the near future. Great rivals on the basketball side. It would be nice to get it going on the football side, but they wouldn't be much competition.xnodx

The Robert Morris dates listed there will not be filled. RMU is playing a 10-game schedule this year per the request of Coach Joe Walton.
Off-day on October 27th, then the season is over after the 11/10 game.
Should be back to 11 games next year when Duquesne joins the NEC.

If we can't get UNI Oct.6, I wish we would move our Gardner-Webb game to Oct. 6 and get Jax St. in on Sep 15.

Why would anyone purposely play a 10-game schedule (outside of the Ivy League anyway)? How DUMB is that? What a waste of potential revenue. I wouldn't want to play somewhere like that.

I think the issue is that the administration is playing these "money" games with FBS schools to help the program's financial position. As such, they also need to schedule home games. So, with 2 away FBS games and the away SLC games, they can't really afford to schedule home-and-home matches with top FCS schools (which I really wish we could).
Hopefully they can get the financials stable for a while and we can get back to playing teams from the Big Sky, SoCon and MEAC. xnodx

Would be nice...would probably go a good way in bringing me out to Thibodaux outside of SHSU/Nicholls match ups...
SELA doesn't have that impressive of a schedule OOC at home. Kentucky Wesleyan does not do it for me, though I may make Tulane vs SELA in the Superdome.

Why isn't UNI excited to come to THE ROCK where we have 27 or 28 straight WINS including 2 years of playoffs ????????
AND 2 National Championships and counting !!!!!!!!!!!
I personally don't care where we play, in the Dome or in the BIG House. I love to travel.

It seems to be hit and miss. Good coaching, nice facilities (despite the lack of lights at the stadium) but not the greatest scheduling or campus life.
Joe Walton is well-respected and a wonderful guy, but he does some baffling things sometimes.

Weber State has yet to release its official schedule.
I believe there are two open dates. One I'm sure will stay open. The other one, I don't know. I don't know the exact open dates either. Its 1:15 in the marnin' and I'm going to bed, so I'm not looking it up.

They play at Cal Poly on Sept. 15th. I am looking forward to the game. I have a lot of respect for coach McBride and think Weber will be a good team next season. Should be a great game.

Meh.
Useless game, really. Only real benefit is getting the kids more playing time. If we're in a normal year, hovering at .500, attendence for that game will be around 4000. We do need the fifth home game, though, so I guess DII isn't much of a choice.
