As spring football games go, SFA's was hard to beat.
Down 17-0 at one point, the Purple team rallied for 20 straight points to capture a 20-17 victory over the White team at Homer Bryce Stadium Thursday night.
While the score mattered to the coaches and players, the atmosphere of having fun and being physical was the highlight.
New Lumberjack head coach J.C. Harper said he had no complaints with the way spring practice and Thursday's contest played out.
"What a great way to end it," Harper said. "I don't know how it could have been any better.
"It was competitive, and the players had fun doing it. It gives us hope for a good future."
There is no question the players have bought into the style of coaching of Harper, who served as former coach Robert McFarland's defensive coordinator for two seasons before being promoted when McFarland took the offensive coordinator's job at Iowa State.xthumbsupx
