At 7:00 p.m. from Grace Hall. Live audio streaming available through the LehighSports.com web site. 12 bouts scheduled. Interestingly, none at 149, where Schuyler went down last week. Two bouts at 141, so I imagine they are winnowing who will be challenging for 149. Marquee match up of the eveng could be at 165 where Cole Walter faces off with Gordy Wolf. Schram, Karam, and Weiler not wrestling--possible some minor dings being protected.

A very enjoyable evening of wrestling. It was great being back in Grace Hall--home of a wonderful winning tradition that has faded on the other side of South Mountain. The marquee match at 165 between Walter and Wolf did not disappoint as Walter won a very tight and close fought match with a late take down. Four projected starters sat out due to injuries that were reported as being 'minor dings'. There was no match at 149, but two at 141 and 165. A bit of a surprise was Gentile beating Jakobson, 3-1. Weiler there projected starter, but both of these two are not far behind. Jordan Wood at 285 (actually about 255) looked quick for a big guy and looks primed for an all-american year. Both Kutler (174) and Preisch (184) looked in top form manhandling their opponents by major decisions. Scotty Parker also took the evening off at 133, but appears to be the captain of the team as he address the estimated crowd of about 1200 before the match.

Fifteen wrestlers will be competing at the Princeton Open this weekend, and the team will travel to the Journeyman tournament next weekend in Binghampton, NY. First dual meet will be Friday night, November 16 in Ann Arbor taking on #4 Michigan to open the season.

Some information following wrestle offs is that Schram and Parker's injuries may be a bit more serious than previously thought and possible they won't see the mat until next semester. Bummer if true considering we have Michigan, Iowa and Penn State over the next five weeks.
