those are impressive numbers, considering the bad weather
Leads me to believe our previous estimates for the Dartmouth at Princeton game next week were about right in saying that they will be around 10,000 with bad weather and 15,000 with good weather

Wish I could be there. I was there as a player or spectator for Dartmouth's last titles against Princeton in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1996 and 2015.

It was because it was the diehards there and we hung in there with them and let it rip in the 2nd half. It was as loud as 14K can get. Flacco was having trouble calling out signals in 4Q. They had to chase us out of the Gold Parking Lot well after the game.

Box score showed 8053 for Murray JSU but our homecoming numbers are always skewed. That is the number that walked through the main gates and not the number still over in Tent city or from there

No dis, katss07, but there were a decently small # of your undergrads actually attending PVAMU's homecoming festivities (wearing their orange shirts). We had 14.9K inside the game but there were all of 25K-30K outside the stadium, easily. It's one of those cultural things that crosses school boundaries. (hence why aTm, ut-austin, unt-denton, smu, tcu, et al students arrive on campus and represent as well)

I drove through CNY yesterday on my way to Syracuse and the weather was horrid. Honestly, that's more than I expected. Had the weather been better I would have done the double-header.

Yep, sad
but the school is small in terms of number of students, about 2,900 students and way out in the middle of no where with some of the worse weather in the East Coast

Colgate has never drawn well. The school's located in a very rural area of CNY. What local college football fans exist near Colgate are most likely 'Cuse supporters.

Congrats, that's a good turnout. Good to see the New England CAA group - to include UNH and URI - build nice turnouts.
i caught a few minutes of UMass and UConn on TV. Despite their report, there couldn't have been more than 8,000 there in Hartford.

It's the Magic City Classic! One of the oldest Classics amongst all of the HBCU classics. It's played in Birmingham which is an hour from both schools and the largest alumni base for both schools. The MCC is a HUGE event that's lasts all week and draws in celebrities from all walks of life. Outside of the 65-70k we get into the stadium, there's another 40k or so that never enters the stadium but just tailgates the entire time.

All schools, no matter what level, should be required to scan all tickets and report two figures - paid attendance and actual attendance.

Not so sure; our home opener was moved up to a Thursday because of Hurricane Florence -- attendance was only 18K and change.

I doubt it. UM has about an 800 fan-per-game lead right now (≈24,300 vs. ≈23,500), and each Griz/Cat in Missoula this decade has gone over 26k. The only way JMU could realistically win is if the Griz somehow get a Thanksgiving-weekend playoff game.
Of course, I don't know if these two are the leaders. The NCAA doesn't list the national attendance rankings until the season is over.

That is a pathetic turnout for UConn and is a blemish on UMass as well. I know they don't have good records but they are border states both FBS schools and they should draw have a huge turnout, will give a benefit of doubt and assume poor weather conditions had something to do with itxeyebrowx
