For your enjoyment. Personally, I'd eliminate the "unexpected" stuff. I knew full well that if we got production from QB, RB, and TE (and we have), we'd be very tough.

:)

And voters take note:

"So where does the motivation come from? According to Teevens, 'there was not a lot of expectation or respect for us.' Dartmouth was sixth in the preseason Ivy League poll, despite the 8-2 finish the year before. Kaskey echoed this, mentioning that a current sore point was that while Dartmouth received three points in the FCS poll before the Yale game, they dropped to none in the most recent one, while Princeton is No. 23"

If a team plays in the FCS but won’t participate in the playoffs, do they really matter?

Nope, it's apparent they are playing for pole respectability considering the activity in recent threads. Problem is they don't schedule many respectable opponents. Sure, I've read numerous times that Yale beat Maine but they don't add the fact that Holy Cross beat Yale.

The dream scenario is, Princeton beats Dartmouth, celebrates too much, and loses to Yale the next week.

Wouldn't be surprised

The Dartmouth game is at Princeton this year so the partying will be heavy at the Eating Clubs after the game and through the night

When was the last time 2 undefeated Ivy League teams played in November. Anyone remember? Yale-Harvard 1968? There must have been one or two times since then.

Edit to add: Harvard and Yale were both undefeated in league play in 2007, but Harvard had lost an OOC game if I remember correctly.

Dartmouth's dominate season? Wasn't the last one 1937?

Penn-Princeton in 1993 was one of them.

I've been following Dartmouth a bit since they hired former Aggie Kevin Daft as OC/QBC, looks like they are scoring, a lot. Not surprised! Hope Dartmouth can keep up the momentum.

Joe Paterno was so pissed off that Dartmouth won the Lambert Trophy ovah Penn St in 1970. xlolx

I think Dartmouth finished something like #14 in the polls that year.

I would say that era, roughly 1968-1972, was the last time the Ivies were nationally relevant football-wise. Those Yale teams with Hill, Dowling etc, very strong Dartmouth teams, Ed Marinaro of Cornell almost won the Heisman etc etc during that period of time. By the end of the 70s,the Ivies were basically at the FCS-level they are today.

You may be able to include the 1981 Yale team that beat Navy as relevant nationally, but after that it was all downhill.

A harbinger of far greater gracelessness (not to mention criminality) to come. Arrogant bastard.

A big reason why we're scoring is because of strong QB play. We graduated a starting QB last year, and it was an open question as to how much we'd get at QB this season over the off-season.

The answer is "we've gotten a lot." And Teevens has repeatedly praised Daft for his work with the QBs and playcalling this season. Hope he can keep it up!!

Undefeated in 1951 as well; finished #6 nationally and won Lambert Trophy. Lost ONE game between 1950-52 (Pennsylvania in 1952, 13-7).

Sader87, I'll drink to that! I believe Colgate and Holy Cross are the most-played Ivy opponents, even going back to the informal "Ivy Group" days through 1956.
