A broken exhaust pipe poured extreme heat and deadly carbon dioxide into the cockpit of Brian Vickers NASCAR Sunday over the final 200 laps, yet Vickers fought on and finished 15th and immediatly received oxygen following the race.
Red Bull Racing officials were prepared to pull teammate A.J. Allmendinger (http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/nextel/drivers/1245/) from his car to replace Vickers on Sunday, but Vickers insisted on finishing the race.
Allmendinger was several laps down after an early incident.
