Not sure how many of been following the women's NCAA, but a great story has developed concerning Rutgers and Arizona State.
Rutgers and ASU were supposed to play in December in the championship game of a tournament in the Virgin Islands. The night before the game, one of the ASU's players' 15-year old brother died in his hotel room (medical condition). He and the rest of her family had come for the tournament. ASU decided they would not play in the championship game - they were all too upset, etc. Rutgers then decided they too, would not play - they could have shown up and been awarded a forfeit victory.
Fast forward to March...
#4 Rutgers defeated #1 Duke when Duke's star player missed two free throws with 1 second left.
#3 ASU beat Bowling Green, who had earlier upset #2 Vandy.
So tonight, with a berth to the Final Four on tap, ASU and Rutgers will finally play the game delayed since December.
BTW - ASU's coach was NAU's head coach before being hired at ASU.
