Tribe4SF, I've never been to Zable, but is that structure behind that endzone your brand new Laycock Center, or is that going somewhere else?

That's the University Center you see behind the endzone in the picture. The Laycock Center would be to the right of the photographer in that picture. The shot below shows the Center under construction adjacent to the NW corner of Zable.

Hope you'll be able to make it to Zable some day. JMU game this year is Nov. 10 under the lights.

25 a seat seems low to me.

Weren't the leather ones in the team room 500 each?

So I'd think 100 for plastic.

Well, for reference, the seats at Ralph Engelstad Arena cost about $25 each just for the seat when they were building it some years ago.. Of course, this is not retail price for something you would buy of equal value at a store. That would raise the price up.

What do you guys think of this high school stadium here in Ohio. It's Massillon's Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. It seats about 17,000 and is one of two sites [other is HOF Fawcett in Canton] for the OHSAA High School State Football Championships.

They have a brand new scoreboard as well with a videoboard and all. Their press facility on the right stands are very nice as well.

I once saw a drum and bugle corps show in that stadium. The place makes other high school stadiums look like...well, high school stadiums.xreadx

LIGHTS!!! xlolx

Heck, I had a friend about 30mi NE of UCD...they wanted to add lights at their HS...the Boosters did a couple of "casino nights" WITH BOOZE...they had the money raised in two nights.
Ooops! I forgot. That violates the UC, "...must make students pay for all capital improvements..." policy.
Of course, then again, at UCD the lights might disrupt the feeding patterns of the Antrozous pallidusa (Pallid Bat). (Close relative to the Administratoris Parasitus)

Or agitate the native Nimby Whinerus, of which the local community has a saturated population count.xrolleyesx

It seats around 14,000 I believe. Valdosta has one heck of a football program with 23 GA State Championships and 6 National Titles.

Yes Valdosta is pretty damn amazing, but I will put an Ohio HS team up against any in America and the Ohio team will win.. You will see this year with the Ohio vs. USA HS thing up in Ohio which Kirk Herbstreit runs.

From WIKIPEDIA:
Washington High School is nationally famous for its football team, which is featured in the film Go Tigers!. The team, which began play in 1894, has compiled a record of 767 wins; 222 losses; and 35 ties (standings through end of 2005 season). The Tigers play their home games at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium (seating capacity: 18,000; artificial turf); a live tiger cub named "Obie" is on the sidelines for each home game. Massillon's arch rival are the Bulldogs of neighboring Canton McKinley High School. Their meeting is the final game of the regular season each year. It is the only high school contest in America to feature odds in Las Vegas.[1] In 113 meetings (1894-2005), Massillon leads the series 61-50-5.

23 professional players, 3 NFL coaches and 14 collegiate all-Americans graduated from Massillon High School.

Washington High School was voted the Ohio Division I, State Champions title 22 times, though they have never won an Ohio Divsion 1 State Championship in the playoff era of Ohio High School Football. They have although been recognized as the AP National Champions nine times – in 1935, 1936, 1939, 1940, 1950, 1952, 1953, 1959, 1961 – the most in the nation.

Unfortunatly I believe that you are correct in that the talent level in Florida now far exceeds that of Ohio or Pennsylvania the two powerhouses of yester year. I would say it is pretty much a 3 way tie between Florida, Texas and Cali as they are top tier and seperating them would be like splitting hairs. After these top three I think Ohio follows right behind, then PA and then the southern states like Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, etc.

Funny you mention this. I attended Fairfield HS my first two years before moving back south and we played Moeller in an exhibition before the '81 season and only lost 27-0. This was at the end of their incredible run, before Jerry Faust took the job at Notre Dame. This game was front page news.
I remember the heavyweights, Princeton, Massilon, McKinley, and others. That was some good football. I have to agree with some of the others, though, Florida has the most talent... now.

I imagine Lakeland would take some of that.

Before everybody starts bragging about their High School programs, chew on this: The BCS National Champion University of Florida signed SEVEN of the 2005 and 2006 USA Today National HS Champion Lakeland players in February. That is not a typo... seven w/UF, nine total signed with SEC schools.

After our stadium is done we won't need any renovations because everything will be done, and also upgrades and additions such as new restrooms and concession stands but what will be built is a new weight room and an additional 3,500 seats, I heard a whole horseshoe now and it will be 10,000 seats, but I don't know. Also our softball stadium will be upgraded, and our baseball team will be recieving a club house and completing the facilities will be a new sports complex that will have 3 basketball courts, swimming pools or what not. A dorm room apartment is being built in the back, and 2 more could be built starting next year.

Actually, Valdosta High School is the winningest high school program in the nation. Right now they have 829 All-Time Wins - which is a National High School Federation Record (829-183-34, 80.8% Winning Percentage) They've had 11 players go on to play in the NFL and no telling how many have played D1 college football.

Shoot, thats nothing. I used to live in TX, and I remember hearing about some of their big HS stadiums. What might be the biggest one in Frisco seats over 21k, but they also share that with a pro soccer team.

This one seats 20k, with video screen:

This one seats over 19k:

For me, I'd say that all teams should get rid of their tracks, it kind of ruins the feel of getting close to the players, you know?

ASU..just a few real flushing bathrooms and a tractor trailer to haul off our Portajon Farm. Oh, and 5K more seats to seat our SRO's.
