Interesting. I'll eventually take the time to research this and back it up, but I hypothesize that part of the reason why NDSU doesn't just beat teams consistently but blows them out is because crowd noise rattles opponents (especially OOC who aren't used to it), makes them make more mistakes like turnovers, which snowballs what would otherwise be close games into blowouts.

To be clear: that's obviously not the only reason NDSU is so good. NDSU is the best team in the country, hands down. I just think it's the reason why they seem to beat teams by 30 when they come in (no matter who) as opposed to, 10-14.

But as they say in science, more research needed!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been this impressed with how NDSU played. Utterly dominating, could be that Delaware is just bad, but I’m not sure. Next 2 weeks will tell a lot. If the Bison look this good after SDSU, I’m not sure anyone can touch them

Because embarrassing teams often leads to injury. Coach K never runs up the score unlike Mr Joose. And make no mistake NDSU could have easily scored 60-80. Also if NDSU blasts out teams then OOC is very hard to schedule.

The fact that we were scoring with 4th stringers tells you enough. AR-PB was awful and let us score.

pretty good summary Bison...

Delaware mostly plays a read and react defense, the dont do alot of blitzing, alot of fans would like to see them get after it some more but they forced alot of turnovers last year playing the more conservative way,

The DL is a work in progress and Rhode Island pushed them off the LOS which caused some problems for our LB, they dont get after the QB that well and are slow

Colby, the younger Reeder was held out Saturday due to injury

Troy Reeder will be in the NFL next year

Ray Jones is at LB this year after playing 3 years at safety, he is a physical player and a good tackler

Charles Bell is back after a serious injury suffered druing the JMU game last year, he is a run stopper, first team all CAA in 2016

Malcolm Brown is back from an offseason achilles injury
Nasir Adderley is the best and will be all Conference again, NFL player

despite the talent, Delaware has looked like they can be passed on though,

the offense has been referred to as slop for several years now, Kehoe a JR, never saw the field until 2 weeks ago, we all though Wade was going to be the starting QB but Kehoe beat the FBS trasnfer out of his promised job, not sure if Wade even cares,

Joe Walker was moved to WR mid season last year, after being the starting QB for 2 plus years, he has looked good and he is big and strong and can go up and catch the ball, if we manage to score a TD in this game, it will probably be a jump ball type lob to him

Jaime Jarmon arrived with much fanfare to UD, bombed out of minor league baseball and arrived as a star HS QB but was quickly moved to WR.... He has shown flashes but for the most part, has greatly underachieved

Vince Papale, the son of NFL WR of same name and inspiraton for the movie Invinciable, is the Third WR and has been very productive this year

Rocco likes to line it up and try smash mouth with a big physical RB Kani Cane,,,, who knows, anyway if he brings this slop to Fargo Cane will be lucky to walk out of the Fargo dome, talk about playing right into the Bisons hands,

our FG kicker is pretty good and the punter is always good at Delaware as they get tons of practice

bottom line is even if the Defense is lights out Delaware is not going to be able to put enough points on the board to win

I can see us coming out early and taking the ball down the field with some ball shots but probably have to settle for a FG

Bison will take a while to get the machine cranking but as the game rolls along, it will become more evident that Delaware is not up to the task

Back from the game and some thoughts:

1. First off it was great to see Upstate his girlfriend and cx500 again. Long time since Frisco! Kingpin, Oline, POD, 02, TennBison....nice AGS group!

2. NDSU's DL is scary good. TC is going to have some trouble next week.

3. Passing game looked much better today. Something like 11 different guys caught a pass.

4. Coach K could have had this game 60 or 70 to nothing. Good to get snaps for the 2nds and 3rds. Looked like Delaware had both their 1st stringers in until the end of the game.....why? Backups bad? Back up QB no good?

5. Some of those holding calls were kind of suspect. And UD was not holding?xeyebrowx

6. 1st team defense has not given up a TD yet.

7. NDSU's punter is a definite upgrade over last year.

8. 2nd team was moving the ball on the 1st team defense of UD.

9. Time to kick the Bunnies asses!

After attending today’s game I have to say that Bison fans are some of the greatest fans I have met. Every fan I ran into made it a point to welcome us to Fargo and invite us to their tailgate. Just all around great people. The game day atmosphere was fantastic and I had a great time even though the Hens got dominated. Sorry that Delaware couldn’t give you a better game. I’m hoping when NDSU comes to Newark next year it will be a bit more competitive.

After attending today’s game I have to say that Bison fans are some of the greatest fans I have met. Every fan I ran into made it a point to welcome us to Fargo and invite us to their tailgate. Just all around great people. The game day atmosphere was fantastic and I had a great time even though the Hens got dominated. Sorry that Delaware couldn’t give you a better game. I’m hoping when NDSU comes to Newark next year it will be a bit more competitive.

It was great having you folks. Every Delaware fan we met was really nice.

Now for next year when we come come out we are going to need places to stay and a list of restaurants. Steaks,seafood, pizza, subs-heros-grinders, plus any local specialties.

Working a booth when that stupid song came out and some moron in our booth looped the thing and it played over and over again for 9 hours, the song is 3:51 seconds long and with the time involved with the loop I figure the song completed in about 4 minutes, do the math. I still have nightmares. xshakefistxxshakefistx

What quarter did the third string come in?

I was kind of let down the Bison coasted in the second half, but to the Hens credit they did not quit and continued to play hard despite being whipped

I hope Rocco doesnt think anyone believes any of that Coach speak..... he is starting to get on my nerves
