Finally... the Ivies have come to play for this season.

Note: The season for us starts on Friday night as Brown visits San Luis Obispo to take on struggling Cal Poly.

Games:
Friday
Brown at Cal Poly
Saturday
San Diego at Harvard - sad to say, I'm picking against the Crimson now. San Diego played tough for around 40 minutes against an FBS shaver in UC Davis before back to back interceptions sealed their fate. In addition, the Toreros scored the middle portion of the scoring in that all-California FCS OOC game.
Yale at Holy Cross - Holy Cross remains a question mark after two games. Yale is still better.
Georgetown at Dartmouth - Hoyas' struggles continue...
Cornell at Delaware - the Blue Hens are ranked.
Columbia at CCSU - toss-up
Bucknell at Penn
Princeton at Butler - Butler's second real test of the season is the Tigers. They got lucky by sneaking past Youngstown State.

Ditto for me. The only one I had to think about was CCSU-Columbia. But I think the Lions will win.

I think Brown beats Cal Poly. Agree with World and Go Green on all the other picks.

Only an 11th game or playoff participation really gets us going.

Ok, I'll express myself further:

See Princeton win. See Princeton win.

Can Princeton beat Rhett Butler? Princeton usually has more students from the Old Confederacy than any other Ivy.

Although Yale does consider the '68 Harvard game a "loss", every once in while I think about how much worse an actual loss on the scoreboard would have been.

If Yale hadn't gone for two after one of the early TD's it could have been MUCH worse.

Coincidence that the "decline" of Harvard coincides with the hiring of Lafayette's ex-OC? Leopardsy is contagious

Notes: Cornell will surprise everyone and keep it a close game, Harvard will have a surprisingly easy time with San Diego at home, and surging Butler will have the surprising upset of Princeton

This could be gamesmanship on the part of the Crimson. But Larry Allen, Jr. (Harvard's all-everything tackle) is not listed on the Crimson's two-deep in the game notes.

The commentators on the Brown - CP game said that this is a great game for CP to play since there is a lot of overlap between the two schools in terms of the applicants each school attracts. Okay!

Cal Poly apparently wins the recruiting battles for better football players.

CP wins 44-15

510 yards of offense not enough for Yale. 11 penalties and two turnovers when they could have put the game on ice, plus terrible pass defense in the last 6 minutes killed them.

This is not the 2017 defense.

HC deserved the win.

Georgetown at Dartmouth: The game was not as close as the score indicated.

The Hoyas' inability to recruit at this level is getting very frustrating.

It was 41-0, Dartmouth. Been a while since we won our opener by that much....

Hard to say this - I have family and friends who graduated from Georgetown - but I get the impression that the administration is satisfied with the status quo. That is very unfair to the kids who are playing and it sends a bad message to kids who are being recruited.

Very fine win for the Tigers. Monmouth comes to town this week.
