Embarrassing behavior by this woman. She knew she was going to lose the match so she acted like a baby. Waaaaaaaaaaaah! Waaaaaaaaaaaah! John McEnroe would blush at her behavior today. And the crowd didn’t acquit themselves very well either. It all took away from what should have been a great moment for Naomi Osaka. It was a bad day on the world stage for USA sports.

Is this why people watch tennis? Same thing as hockey eh? Drama and fighting!

I feel like I was watching a dashcam video of a routine small stop that escalated into something much larger.

That's bull and you know it. McEnroe did worse than that on a regular basis.

As an aside, the fact that a tennis player can be penalized because someone in the crowd gave them a "thumbs up" is quite stupid.

That is not what happened on the "coaching" deal, but the rule for that is stupid as ****. There have been tons of male players that have exceeded her behavior but not recently. You posted a link from 30 years ago to make your point. They tightened the rules since then. I know as soon as Serena dropped the "sexist" card that you and your beta ilk would be all this. Weak, she conducted herself in a terrible manner in a Championship match. That is it and that is all, but you know, you beta cucks got all hard as soon as she dropped the sexist charge.

I was responding to the comparison to McEnroe. Her behavior was certainly no worse than Johnny's (and without cursing). In fact, comparing the recent Williams incident with the first part of the McEnroe video, there are some similar paralells. Point penalty for equipment abuse (Serena smashed her racket on the ground, John went mental on the bench area), then a game penalty for "verbal abuse". I don't really watch tennis that often to see if male players are given more leeway in today's environment, thus meriting the sexist claim. But claiming that Williams' behavior is somehow worse than McEnroe's is just silly.

I don't know if you noticed but McEnroe was hit with game penalties all the time for these outbursts. There were a bunch of guys back in the 70's and 80's that were brutal, McEnroe, Conners, Nastasie, huge list of guys. The coaching thing is stupid and she was right for calling that out, for the most part, she is pretty professional but she has had her moments and you rarely see behavior like her's on the female side of the bracket. She is really the only female player I can remember that acts like this.

Absolutely!
