NORMAL, Ill. - Due to the turf replacement at Hancock Stadium and the uncertainty of April weather in central Illinois, the Illinois State Athletics Department has opted to cancel the annual Red-White spring football game this year.
"Since we will be practicing on our grass field, I didn't want to have a situation where the date of the spring game is upon us and we weren't ready for that point," said head coach Denver Johnson. "We have 15 practices available during the spring and if the weather doesn't cooperate, we might be in camp later than April 21.
"Whether we finish camp on April 21 or later, there will be a final scrimmage and our fans are more than welcome to come out and support the Redbirds, it just won't be the same event that it has been in the past due to the unknown."
WHAT A CROC O CRAP!!! I blame Dr Zenger
