Last week: 2-3 for the PL out of conference. This week's entries:

Holy Cross (0-1) vs. Boston College (1-0)
Sacred Heart (1-0) at Bucknell (0-1)
Lafayette (0-1) at Delaware (0-1)
Campbell (1-0) at Georgetown (1-0)
Villanova (1-0) at Lehigh (1-0)
Colgate (1-0) at New Hampshire (0-1)
Fordham (0-1) at Richmond (0-1)

Some thoughts for each game:

1. Almost no one under 40 has any memory of watching the Holy Cross-BC series, but this game won't get much attention south of the Mass Pike. BC put up 48 on UMass by halftime and coasted to a 55-7 win. Will they put the same hurt on the Purple?

2. Is Sacred Heart that good? The teams were basically even last year, so another test for the rising fortunes of the NEC.

3. Is Lafayette that bad? The loss to URI will fire up the Hens even further to redeem their ways Saturday.

4. The two game Campbell-Georgetown series ends Saturday as the Camels aim higher than PL opponents. While CU will soon be playing North Carolina and ECU, Georgetown gets...Marist. And as things stand, Campbell is much better than Marist.

5. Villanova-Lehigh is the game of the week. Bad time for the Engineers after Villanova stuffed Temple in its opener.

6. Colgate at UNH? See Lafayette at Delaware. Tough place for the road team.

7. Fordham at Richmond: It will be closer than people think, but the Spiders are favored.

There is a similar thread that was piled on... xcoffeex

Not another good week for the PL overall for this coming week, though.

The 1942 Boston College - Holy Cross game is also known for the tragic post-game fire at the Coconut Grove nightclub.

PL certainly has to tighten the chin straps this week.

HC will have more than a cross to bear. Should not be close as you can only go so far on emotion. Bahstin Cawlege 52-21

Bucky, as usual, seems to have their ol' D, but offensive woes, again. Rooting for the Bison, but I see SHU prevailing 24-17

Laughyette may not even have their spots left after this one. Delware was embarrassed by Little Rhody and I suspect there will be hell to pay. U of D 45-15

After a nice opening wing Hoyas won't be able to get over this hump. Campbell 31-17

One might think 'nova could have a let down after the big win over Temple. But I think many will remember the tight game last year won by the Wildcats by only 3 points, so I don't see 'nova "looking ahead". Still, if Lehigh makes the expected improvements from game 1 to game 2 on offense, this may well be down to the wire. Head says Villanova 31-27; Heart senses a nice upset for the Mountain Hawks, 34-31.

Red Raiders visiting a team that should be mad as "all get out".Tape from HC game may show the way for the 'cats as they rebound, 35-24.

Richmond was spun into their own web by UVA, and should be looking to right the ledger against the Rams. Would be a very big win for Fordham, but think they will just fall short, 38-34.

The 1942 Boston College - Holy Cross game is also known for the tragic post-game fire at the Coconut Grove nightclub.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocoanut_Grove_fire

On November 28, 1942, the Boston College football team (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_College_Eagles_football) played Holy Cross College (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Cross_Crusaders_football) at Fenway Park (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenway_Park). In a great upset of that period, Holy Cross beat Boston College by a score of 55–12. College bowl game scouts had attended the game in order to offer Boston College a bid to the 1943 Sugar Bowl (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1943_Sugar_Bowl) game. As a result of the rout, a Boston College celebration party scheduled for the Grove that evening was canceled.[5] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocoanut_Grove_fire#cite_note-5)
It is estimated that on that Saturday night more than 1,000 Thanksgiving (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving_(United_States)) weekend revelers, wartime servicemen and their sweethearts, football fans, and others were crammed into a space rated for a maximum of 460 people
