THIBODAUX, ,La.*- *• The Nicholls State University football team kicks off its 47th season with the program's first-ever meeting against Big 12 member Kansas. Nicholls has a 21-25 record all-time in season openers after ending a five-year skid with its win over McNeese in 2017. Before last season's victory, the five losses came against FBS programs (Georgia '16, ULM '15, Air Force '14, Oregon '13, and South Alabama '12).
